Animal welfare
Deliberate cruelty to animals is repulsive to producers. A key priority for producers is raising healthy and contented animals. Not only is it better for the animals, but it's a sound economic basis for doing business.
Farmers wouldn't be in the business of farming if they didn't like and care for animals. Compassion for animals is considered the norm.
The Australian wool industry has a positive worldwide reputation for its animal husbandry practices. Its success is based upon producing healthy and contented animals.
